₹950 Crore Boost for Borosil Renewables' Solar Glass

Borosil Renewables has secured board approval for a revised expansion plan valued at ₹950 crore to boost its solar glass manufacturing capacity by 600 tonnes per day (TPD). The expansion involves setting up two additional furnaces of 300 TPD each at its existing facility in Bharuch, Gujarat, which currently operates at 1,000 TPD—equivalent to 6.5 GW of annual solar module capacity.

Originally slated as a ₹675 crore investment for a 500 TPD increase, the project was scaled up in response to favorable market outlooks. The enhanced plan reflects Borosil’s strategic commitment to meeting rising demand in the domestic solar sector.

The expansion will be funded through a combination of equity, debt, and internal accruals. Once operational, the increased capacity is expected to drive higher production and sales, reinforcing Borosil Renewables' position as a key player in India's renewable energy value chain.
