Solar Boom: Jupiter's ₹2,700 Cr AP Project

Jupiter Renewables, a subsidiary of Kolkata-based Jupiter International, has announced a significant investment of Rs 2,700 crore to establish a large-scale solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Rambilli, located in the Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh.

The plant will feature a production capacity of 4.8 GW for solar photovoltaic (PV) cells and 1.5 GW for PV modules. It is expected to create over 2,200 jobs, further strengthening the region's position as an emerging hub for renewable energy manufacturing.

The project will be executed in two phases:

Phase I involves an investment of Rs 1,504 crore and is slated for completion by March 2026.

Phase II, with an investment of Rs 1,196 crore, is scheduled to be completed by July 2026.

With this investment, Jupiter Renewables becomes the third major solar manufacturer to set up operations in Andhra Pradesh, alongside Indosol and Premier Energies. Indosol has proposed a Rs 69,000 crore integrated solar PV unit, while Premier Energies is investing over Rs 5,900 crore in a series of phased projects.

This wave of investment supports Andhra Pradesh’s ambitious goal of attracting Rs 10 lakh crore in renewable energy investments and creating approximately 7.5 lakh employment opportunities across the sector.
