Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) has successfully commissioned a groundbreaking 1,040 kW bifacial solar system project in West Bengal in collaboration with Chengmari Tea Estate. This pioneering project is expected to generate approximately 1.5 million units (MUs) of energy annually, contributing to a substantial reduction in the carbon footprint by 29,420 lakh tonnes.
The Chengmari Tea Estate installation represents the inaugural deployment of on-ground bifacial modules in eastern India, marking a significant milestone in the region's solar energy landscape.
The adoption of innovative bifacial technology, capable of harnessing sunlight from both the front and rear sides of the solar panels, signifies a major advancement in clean energy generation. This approach enhances the efficiency and overall performance of the solar system, contributing to more sustainable and eco-friendly power generation.
As Tata Power's primary investment vehicle dedicated to clean and renewable energy-based power generation capacity, TPREL continues to drive forward its commitment to environmentally responsible energy solutions. This successful commissioning further underscores TPREL's role in pioneering cutting-edge projects that contribute to India's transition towards a greener and more sustainable energy future.
