Zelestra Secures 450-MWp Solar Project PPA with NTPC

Spanish renewable energy company Zelestra has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC for its 450-MWp Anboto solar project in Rajasthan. This agreement was secured through a competitive bidding process held in January, marking a significant step in Zelestra’s expansion within India’s renewable energy sector.

The Anboto solar project, expected to be operational by the end of 2025, will generate approximately 801 GWh of clean energy annually. NTPC, India's largest energy conglomerate, will purchase the entire output from the plant, furthering its commitment to increasing the share of renewables in its energy portfolio.

Previously known as Solarpack, Zelestra rebranded just before securing this deal, reflecting its evolving identity in the global renewable energy market. The successful acquisition of this PPA, along with 1.5 GW of PPAs this year, underscores Zelestra's growing influence and strategic expansion in India.

Zelestra India aims to develop a project portfolio exceeding six GW over the next three years, leveraging its global expertise and strong local insights. This ambitious goal reflects the company's dedication to scaling up its operations and reinforcing its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy markets.

As Zelestra continues to forge key partnerships like the one with NTPC, it solidifies its role as a leading player in the transition towards sustainable energy in India.
