The Bihar government has launched its new renewable energy policy—Promotion of Bihar New and Renewable Energy Sources 2025—with the goal of attracting ₹1.5 lakh crore in investments and generating 1.25 lakh employment opportunities by FY 2030, according to Energy Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh.
The policy sets an ambitious target of installing 23.96 GW of renewable energy capacity and 6.1 GW of storage. To incentivize investment, it offers SGST reimbursements, electricity duty waivers, and a single-window clearance system to expedite approvals.
“This policy positions Bihar as one of the most attractive destinations for renewable energy investments,” said Singh, reaffirming the government’s commitment to policy stability and investor confidence.
In addition to capacity targets, the policy emphasizes the adoption of innovative technologies, public awareness, and broad stakeholder participation in green energy development—further aligning Bihar with India’s national Net Zero goals.
