Uttar Pradesh attracted Rs 5,196 crore in fresh investment proposals during the two-day UP Textiles Conclave 2026 held in Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the event, emphasizing the state's initiative to build a comprehensive textile value chain. To bolster this growth, officials distributed Letters of Comfort worth Rs 163 crore alongside Rs 60 crore in direct subsidies.
The state currently ranks third across India in fabric production, generating roughly 13 to 14 percent of the nation's total output. By leveraging its historic textile traditions, deep pool of skilled labor, and modern industrial infrastructure, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly expanding its footprint. Demonstrating this upward trajectory, the state's exports of textiles, garments, and handicrafts surged by approximately 56 percent over a six-year period.
