Construction has officially kicked off on the new, state-of-the-art Integrated Terminal Building (NITB) at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport. Aiming for an operational deadline of 2029–30, the project represents a massive investment exceeding ₹3,000 crore.
To make way for Phase 1—which extends from Terminal 3 alongside the existing domestic terminal—T3 has been largely cleared and cordoned off. Despite the heavy machinery moving in, passenger convenience remains a top priority: a phased development model ensures uninterrupted flight operations and smooth traffic flow on approach roads. Parallel upgrades are also well underway across the airport, including a brand-new Air Traffic Control facility, airside infrastructure enhancements, and utility overhauls to seamlessly handle Ahmedabad's booming air traffic.
