The Sky's the Limit: GMR’s Rs 19,400 Crore Airport Makeover

GMR Airports is committing up to Rs 19,400 crore over the next five to seven years to upgrade and expand its key aviation hubs. The capital expenditure includes approximately Rs 13,800 crore allocated for Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and up to Rs 5,600 crore for the New Delhi airport, funded through a mix of debt and equity. This strategic investment will more than double Hyderabad airport’s annual capacity from roughly 34 million to 80 million passengers, positioning GMR to capitalize on India's booming aviation sector and future privatization projects.
