JSW MG Motor’s Rs 6,000 Cr Play for Halol Plant Growth

JSW MG Motor India—a joint venture between India's JSW Group and China's SAIC Motor—along with its ecosystem vendors, is investing approximately Rs 6,000 crore to significantly scale up operations at its Halol manufacturing plant in Gujarat.

The strategic investment aims to double the facility's annual production capacity to 2.20 lakh vehicles by January 2028, driven by rising demand for new energy vehicles (NEVs) and advanced automotive technologies. The expansion will also introduce the Hector Tomahawk, the inaugural model built on the company's proprietary Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology (ADAPT). Meanwhile, JSW Group is reportedly in active discussions with SAIC Motor to acquire an additional equity stake in the joint venture.
