Schneider’s Mega Expansion: The ₹156 Crore Bet on Vadodara

Schneider Electric Infrastructure has approved an increase in capital expenditure for the expansion of its Vadodara switchgear plant, raising the investment from ₹110.2 crore to ₹156.4 crore, as per the board decision on 27 March 2026.

The additional ₹46.2 crore will be utilised to expand shopfloor space and undertake civil and structural works, supporting future scalability at the Kotambi facility near Halol, Gujarat. The plant currently has an installed capacity of around 8,000 panels and operates at approximately 90% utilisation. Post-expansion, capacity will increase by 6,000 panels to a total of 14,000 panels, with completion targeted in FY 2026–27. The project will be funded through a mix of internal accruals and borrowings.

Separately, the company also plans to expand its breakers manufacturing unit in Kolkata, adding 40,000 units to the existing capacity of around 5,000, with an investment of ₹90.6 crore. This expansion is also expected to be completed within FY 2026–27.

With four manufacturing facilities across Vadodara, Kolkata, and Chennai, Schneider Electric Infrastructure continues to strengthen its production capabilities to meet rising demand in the switchgear and breakers segment.
