Tesla has officially launched its first showroom in India—the Tesla Experience Centre—at Maker Maxity Mall in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. The inauguration was led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who welcomed Tesla’s entry, calling it “a statement that Tesla has arrived in the right city and the right state,” and pledged full government support.
This marks Tesla’s first physical footprint in the Indian market, underscoring its commitment to the country’s growing electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. The company plans to establish a full-fledged infrastructure, including a logistics network, service centers, and four high-capacity EV charging stations across Mumbai.
The showroom sports a sleek, minimalist white-themed design, showcasing Tesla’s signature technology alongside curated Indian cultural elements. Designed by Chief Architect Neeta Sharada, the space was completed in just 45 days.
Tesla is debuting its Model Y premium SUV in India through this showroom—a move expected to redefine the luxury EV segment and strengthen Maharashtra’s position as a clean mobility hub.
Tesla began local hiring earlier this year, further signaling its readiness for expansion in the Indian market.
