The Electric Era: CM Naidu Sets Sights on a Sustainable APSRTC

N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation to expand the use of electric vehicles (EVs) in its fleet, with the goal of making public transport more affordable while promoting environmentally sustainable operations.

During a review meeting on roads and highways in Amaravati, he stressed the need to optimise fuel costs to improve service delivery while reducing operational expenses. He also called for a phased transition to air-conditioned electric buses across all categories of public transport.

Naidu further instructed officials to prioritise the construction and upgradation of national and state highways to boost economic activity across the state. He highlighted the importance of strengthening road networks to better connect ports within Andhra Pradesh and improve connectivity with other parts of the country.
