Atul Auto has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Exponent Energy to collaborate on electric vehicle development, leveraging Exponent’s rapid charging technology.
The agreement involves the manufacturing and supply of 15,000 electric three-wheelers over a period of three years, extendable by an additional six months, subject to approvals from state transport authorities.
Under the partnership, Atul Auto will serve as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), handling vehicle production, assembly, integration of Exponent’s battery and powertrain systems, as well as quality control, testing, and delivery. Exponent Energy will provide its advanced battery and powertrain technology, which enables 15-minute rapid charging and offers a battery life of up to 2,00,000 km.
The collaboration also covers sales, servicing, and customer support, reinforcing Atul Auto’s presence in the expanding electric mobility segment. It is expected to support the company’s transition toward electric vehicles and strengthen its footprint in the commercial EV market.
The initiative reflects a broader industry shift toward high-efficiency, fast-charging EV solutions aimed at improving operational uptime and reducing downtime in commercial transport applications.
