Tsuyo to Build 600 kW EV Powertrain Plant in Karnataka

Tsuyo Manufacturing has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with the Karnataka government to set up a new electric powertrain manufacturing facility and a dedicated testing track for commercial EVs in the state.

The facility will produce next-generation heavy-duty electric powertrain systems, including electric motors, e-drives, e-axles, and integrated powertrains for electric buses, trucks, and mining vehicles. The test track will accelerate the development and validation of systems suited to Indian conditions. The initiative aims to reduce dependence on imported powertrains, strengthen the domestic heavy commercial EV sector, and generate employment.

The plant will initially have a capacity of 0.5 kW, scalable up to 600 kW through collaborations with CETL and LvKON. The project was announced at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025, attended by state officials and Tsuyo’s leadership team.
