Hero MotoCorp has announced plans to invest over ₹1,500 crore in capital expenditure during FY27 to strengthen its product portfolio and expand manufacturing capacity, with a strong focus on scooters and electric vehicles (EVs) under its Vida initiative.
The country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer said it expanded its portfolio during the year with nine new launches along with multiple product refreshes across both internal combustion engine (ICE) and EV segments. The company added that its broader lineup in motorcycles and scooters helped it improve market share in the 100cc and 110cc categories across ICE and electric mobility products.
During a post-earnings analyst call, CEO Harshavardhan Chitale said the company registered growth across several segments, including entry-level motorcycles, scooters, global operations, and the premium 400cc–500cc category through its partnership with Harley-Davidson.
Chitale noted that the planned FY27 investment will primarily support expansion of scooter manufacturing capacity, driven by strong demand across key models, while continuing sustained investments in EV development and other high-growth areas.
