A New Era of Lifting: Palfinger’s ₹350-Crore Bet on India.

Austrian lifting solutions leader Palfinger AG has announced plans to reduce the cost of its premium cranes in India by up to 30% through localized manufacturing, backed by a ₹350-crore investment in a new production facility in Pune.

To strengthen its market reach, the company has entered into a strategic partnership with TVS Mobility Group, a $3-billion enterprise, enabling nationwide distribution access and comprehensive lifecycle support services.

Having operated in India since 2007 and largely depended on imports despite its global scale as a €2.5-billion enterprise, PALFINGER is now pivoting toward localization to enhance competitiveness in a price-sensitive market fueled by infrastructure, construction, and defence sector demand.

The upcoming Pune facility, expected to commence operations after 2027, will have an annual production capacity exceeding 1,000 units. The plant will manufacture a diversified portfolio, including truck-mounted loader cranes, hook lifts, and aerial work platforms—marking a significant expansion of PALFINGER’s manufacturing footprint and long-term commitment to the Indian market.
