Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed a greenfield project to develop a Taj hotel in Mohali, Punjab, further expanding its footprint in the region.
The upcoming Taj Mohali will feature 225 rooms and offer a range of dining options, including a speciality restaurant, an all-day dining outlet, and a bar. Leisure and wellness amenities will include a health club, gymnasium, swimming pool, and the J Wellness Circle. In addition, the hotel will provide over 26,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space, making it suitable for corporate events, social gatherings, and weddings.
Commenting on the development, IHCL Executive Vice-President Suma Venkatesh said Mohali’s emergence as a major IT and commercial hub in Punjab, coupled with the state’s growing popularity as a destination for weddings and social events, makes it an attractive location for expansion.
IHCL operates a diverse portfolio of brands, including SeleQtions, Claridges Collection, Vivanta, and Ginger. Founded by the Tata Group in 1903, the company currently has a global portfolio of 610 hotels, with an additional 253 properties under development worldwide.
