The first phase of the facelift at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport’s domestic terminal has been completed and is now open to passengers.
The upgraded facility was inaugurated on 11 February 2026 by Amber Dubey, CEO of AERO at Adani Airport Holdings (AAHL), along with Rahul Bhatkoti, Chief Airport Officer. This marks a significant milestone in the airport’s ongoing expansion and modernization drive.
The canopy expansion of the domestic terminal is being executed in three phases. With the completion of Phase One, work on the remaining phases is set to commence shortly. Originally built to handle 1.3 million passengers annually, the terminal is currently managing nearly twice its intended capacity. The renovation aims to deliver a more contemporary, comfortable, and seamless travel experience for passengers.
In addition, a ₹600-crore airside expansion project at Terminal 2 is underway, further strengthening the airport’s infrastructure to accommodate rising passenger traffic.
