The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved a series of major infrastructure projects, including a ₹7,387.70 crore loan from NABARD for the development of the capital, Amaravati.
Key decisions include awarding contracts for the construction of a flood pumping station and the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre, along with various projects in Zone-8. A significant ₹1,673 crore project for underground drainage and sewage treatment in the Mangalagiri-Tadepalli municipal area was also sanctioned. Additionally, the Cabinet introduced a 10% road safety cess on motor vehicle life tax and approved exemptions for land pooling beneficiaries in Tirupati, while land allocations in the CRDA area are slated for review.
The Cabinet also approved leases for the Indian Institute of Plantation Management and Vedanta’s drilling activities, and allocated land for a sports city in Tirupati. Further plans for a greenfield port, shipbuilding cluster, and a new airport in Duggarajupatnam were cleared.
“These projects focus on enhancing urban infrastructure and boosting economic growth,” said the Chief Minister.
