RVNL Charges Ahead with ₹201 Crore Rail Workshop in Odisha

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a contract to set up a wagon periodic overhaul (POH) workshop in Kantabanji, Odisha, valued at ₹201.23 crore, excluding GST.

Awarded by East Coast Railway, the project involves establishing a workshop capable of overhauling 200 wagons, with completion targeted within 18 months. RVNL was the sole bidder for this contract, which was awarded through a works tender. The company confirmed that the deal is a routine business transaction, with no involvement of promoters or related parties.

The project forms part of East Coast Railway’s broader infrastructure development plan to improve wagon maintenance efficiency in the region.
