Consumer medical firm Arcatron Mobility has secured growth capital from OrbiMed, a leading global investment firm specializing in healthcare. The investment aims to bolster Arcatron's research and development (R&D) endeavors, drive new product innovation, and enhance branding and marketing efforts.

Arcatron is renowned for its mobility assist devices offered under the flagship brand 'Frido', available across various e-commerce platforms, its website, and through a network of over 1,000 stores nationwide. The product range includes wheelchairs designed for individuals with limited mobility, orthopedic insoles, and ergonomic cushions aimed at alleviating pain and enhancing comfort.

This investment infusion serves as a significant catalyst for Arcatron's expansion initiatives, enabling the company to extend its presence and cater to a broader customer base.

OrbiMed's commitment to healthcare innovation is underscored by its recent fundraising of approximately USD 4.3 billion earmarked for investment in healthcare startups across the Asian continent. Notable additions to OrbiMed's portfolio include Asian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), operated by Blue Sapphire Healthcare, Kapiva, Bharat Serum, and tertiary hospital chain KIMS, among others.
