Assam Govt. Signs MoU for Guwahati Ropeway Project

The Government of Assam has launched a new ropeway project in Guwahati, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with G R Infraprojects on 26 February 2025. The project aims to establish a ropeway that will connect Sonaram Field to the Bhubaneshwari Temple at Kamakhya.

Under the MoU, the state government will support G R Infraprojects in securing all necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and clearances from relevant state authorities and agencies. This collaboration will ensure that the project adheres to all applicable policies, regulations, and guidelines for smooth execution. The total estimated investment for the project is Rs 270 crore.

The MoU will remain in effect for 12 months from the signing date, with the possibility of extension by the Government of Assam.
