BALCO Expands Chhattisgarh's Aluminium Capability with ₹7,927 Crore Smelter

BALCO proposes to build a large aluminium smelter in Risda, Korba, Chhattisgarh. The ₹7,927 crore expansion project intends to increase the region's aluminum production capability. One of BALCO's biggest growth milestones, the new factory will manufacture 5.1 lakh tonnes of aluminium per year.

The project will include a 300 MW captive power plant. Aluminium production requires a consistent supply of electricity from this power station during smelting. Building this power plant shows BALCO's dedication to efficiency and self-sufficiency.
