The Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) is on the lookout for a concessionaire to spearhead the processing of construction and demolition (C&D) waste. The initiative involves establishing facilities capable of handling 1750 tons per day (TPD) of waste in Bengaluru Urban, Karnataka, under a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer (DBFOT) framework.
This ambitious project demands the concessionaire to develop a comprehensive C&D waste management strategy. This includes managing the waste from its initial storage to its transportation and processing at existing plants. The project will be financed entirely by the concessionaire, who will also handle the collection and transportation phases.
With a public-private partnership (PPP) model in place, the total investment required stands at Rs 54.83 crore. The concessionaire's role will be critical in ensuring that the waste is efficiently processed and disposed of, contributing significantly to Bengaluru's waste management goals.
Prospective bidders have until 22 August 2024 to submit their proposals for this vital initiative.
