Bharat Tex 2026 Attracts Rs 14,300 Crore in Textile Investments

Bharat Tex 2026 has emerged as a major investment and business platform for India’s textile and apparel industry, generating business enquiries worth around USD 2.8 billion and securing textile investment commitments of approximately Rs 14,300 crore from multiple states.

More than 30 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the event. Andhra Pradesh led the investment pipeline with proposed projects worth Rs 4,100 crore, followed by Karnataka (Rs 2,821 crore), Bihar (Rs 1,476 crore) and Maharashtra (Rs 1,095 crore). The proposed investments are expected to generate substantial employment, including over 11,000 jobs in Karnataka and more than 40,500 jobs in Bihar.

The sector has also received a boost from the implementation of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is expected to enhance the competitiveness of Indian textile and apparel exports. With India expanding its network of free trade agreements, textile exports are projected to grow by 15-20 percent annually. The country’s textile and apparel exports stood at approximately Rs 3.16 lakh crore in 2025-26, with the industry targeting exports of Rs 9 lakh crore by 2030.
