Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won contracts worth over ₹11,000 crore from Adani Power Limited and its subsidiary, Mahan Energen Limited. These significant agreements involve the development of three supercritical thermal power projects, each with a capacity of 2x800 MW. The projects are set to be located in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, highlighting BHEL’s growing role in the domestic power sector.
As part of the contracts, BHEL will supply critical components, including boilers, turbines, and generators, which are essential for the efficient operation of the power plants. The company will also manage the erection and commissioning of these projects, ensuring that they are completed within the stipulated timeframe of 49 to 55 months. This comprehensive scope of work demonstrates BHEL's engineering capabilities and its commitment to delivering high-quality power infrastructure.
The projects will be strategically located, with two in Kawai, Rajasthan, and one in Mahan, Madhya Pradesh. These locations are critical for meeting the growing power demands in their respective regions. The deployment of supercritical technology in these plants is expected to enhance efficiency and reduce emissions, aligning with India’s broader goals of promoting cleaner energy production.
For BHEL, this substantial order further strengthens its position in the power sector and contributes to its expanding order book. The successful execution of these projects will not only reinforce BHEL's reputation as a leading power equipment manufacturer but also support its ongoing efforts to contribute to India’s energy security.
