Bidding Opens for Solar Projects in Andaman & Nicobar

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN) has launched a bid for the installation of grid-connected rooftop solar systems in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This initiative is part of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, aimed at accelerating the adoption of renewable energy in the region.

The bidding process, announced with a deadline of July 2, 2024, calls for interested parties to submit their proposals. Bid openings are scheduled for July 3, with NVVN planning to select two primary channel partners for the project. Additional bidders will be placed on a reserve list, ensuring a competitive selection process.

NVVN is seeking experienced EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors and distributors involved in solar PV module manufacturing. The project aims to bolster infrastructure for solar energy generation across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, contributing to sustainable development goals.

The rooftop solar systems are expected to enhance energy efficiency and reduce dependency on conventional power sources in the region. NVVN's initiative underscores the government's commitment to promoting clean energy solutions and fostering local participation in renewable energy projects.

Interested parties are encouraged to participate actively in the bidding process, aligning with NVVN's vision to transform the islands' energy landscape through innovative and sustainable technologies.
