The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has invited bids for constructing student hostel buildings and associated facilities at IIT Gandhinagar in Palaj village, Gujarat. This project, part of Phase-2A development, encompasses 12 blocks of hostels with single, double, and triple occupancy rooms. The buildings will be four floors high with a stilt area. Additionally, the project includes a dining hall with a basement and two upper floors, a sub-station, and various internal and external services.
Key facilities integrated into the project are internal electrification, firefighting and alarm systems, lifts, UPS, CCTV, street lighting, and water supply systems, including overhead and underground tanks and pumps. The external development works and substation equipment are also part of the comprehensive Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Mode-II contract.
Valued at Rs 162.48 crore, the contract has a total duration of 24 months. This period includes three months allocated for planning, design, and approvals, followed by 21 months dedicated to the execution and completion of the work. The project's extensive scope aims to enhance the residential infrastructure for students at IIT Gandhinagar significantly.
The deadline for bid submission is set for 25 July 2024, leaving potential contractors a short window to prepare their proposals. This tender represents a significant opportunity for contractors specializing in large-scale educational infrastructure projects, emphasizing quality and timely delivery.
