Big Contract: RailTel to Build 970 Cr. Labs in Bihar

RailTel Corporation of India has secured a major contract worth ₹970.07 crore to establish science laboratories in Government Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools across Bihar.

The Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the project has been issued by the Bihar Education Project Council under the Samagra Shiksha initiative for the 2025–26 academic year. The turnkey project involves the planning, supply, installation, and commissioning of physics, chemistry, and biology laboratories in schools throughout the state.

This initiative is a key step toward enhancing science education infrastructure in government-run schools and aligns with the government’s broader focus on improving the quality of education and promoting scientific learning at the grassroots level.

RailTel, a Mini Ratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, continues to expand its footprint beyond telecom and ICT services, playing an increasing role in infrastructure development in the education sector.
