Big Win for Telangana: 1.13 Lakh PMAY Homes Sanctioned!

In a major boost to Telangana’s flagship Indiramma Housing Scheme, the Union government has sanctioned 1.13 lakh housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0). This allotment comes with a central grant of nearly Rs 1,500 crore.

The sanction follows a series of meetings between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Union Housing & Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, during which Telangana sought approval for 20 lakh urban homes.

The state government has committed to constructing 20 lakh Indiramma houses over five years with a total budget of Rs 22,500 crore. In the first phase, 2.5 lakh homes were approved, and construction is underway for 1.5 lakh units. Each beneficiary will receive Rs 5 lakh, including Rs 1.5 lakh from the Centre and Rs 3.5 lakh from the state government.
