In a significant move to boost industrial development, the Bihar government has approved the acquisition of 466 acres of land in Munger district to facilitate the expansion of an existing industrial area.
The decision, approved by the State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, includes an allocation of approximately ₹125 crore for the project. Officials stated the expansion will unlock fresh opportunities for investment, employment, and regional economic growth. The land acquisition will span multiple locations, including:
24.99 acres in Asarganj, 81.18 acres in Dhuria Arazi, 190.09 acres in Berain, 6.01 acres in Kharbhatua, 18.66 acres in Jorari, 30.39 acres in Badarkha, — totaling 466.49 acres.
Additionally, the Cabinet cleared the establishment of a new food storage and training centre under the Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation, with an annual budget of ₹4.65 crore. The facility will be used to train staff on food storage, distribution, and scheme management, with regular sessions planned to ensure the timely delivery of ration and essential supplies.
Together, these initiatives aim to enhance industrial infrastructure and improve the efficiency of public service delivery across the state.
