BIMS Gets Super: CM Siddaramaiah Inaugurates New Hospital

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated a new super specialty hospital at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS), marking a major step toward Karnataka’s goal of ensuring advanced healthcare access in every district.

In addition to the hospital, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for multiple development projects, including residential quarters for doctors, a new city bus terminal under the Smart City Mission, the PM-USHA building at Rani Chennamma University in Hirebagewadi, and a highway approach road to the university.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to equitable healthcare and social justice, the CM highlighted the ongoing initiative to establish a government medical college and super specialty hospital in each district, with 22 such institutions already operational.

Addressing concerns over agricultural damage caused by recent heavy rains, CM Siddaramaiah announced compensation of ₹17,000 per hectare for dry crops and ₹21,500 per hectare for irrigated crops, subject to the outcome of ongoing crop loss surveys.
