HPCL-Mittal Energy (HMEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur to drive collaborative research and development in the energy sector. The partnership aims to foster innovation in sustainable technologies and industrial applications, aligning with HMEL’s focus on future-ready energy solutions.
Key areas of collaboration include process innovation, advanced materials, AI-powered energy systems, and sustainable technologies. Operating under a consortium model, the initiative seeks to bridge academic research with real-world applications, emphasizing scalable, commercially viable solutions.
HMEL, known for its strong IP portfolio and high implementation rate of patented technologies in India’s oil sector, hosted the MoU signing at its Noida corporate office. The event was attended by HMEL’s Managing Director & CEO, Prabh Das, and a delegation from IIT Kanpur led by Prof. Raja Angamuthu and Prof. Jayant Kumar Singh.
