Cairn & TechnipFMC Partner for Deepwater Subsea Infrastructure in India

Cairn Oil & Gas, a Vedanta Group company, has partnered with TechnipFMC to accelerate the development of integrated subsea infrastructure for deepwater projects in India.

This strategic collaboration leverages TechnipFMC’s expertise in engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) to enhance efficiency and innovation. The partnership includes integrated front-end engineering and design (iFEED) to optimize project performance using TechnipFMC’s subsea production systems, umbilicals, risers, and flowlines.

The agreement was signed at CERAWeek 2025 in Houston, in the presence of Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal. TechnipFMC Chairman and CEO Doug Pferdehirt highlighted that early engagement under the iEPCI model would ensure timely execution.

Cairn holds over 4,500 sq. km of deepwater blocks in the Krishna Godavari Basin, with water depths of 500–2,500 meters and a resource potential of five trillion cubic feet of gas.
