The Chhattisgarh government has signed an MoU with the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) to position the state as a leading hub for textile and apparel manufacturing. The agreement was formalised during the FAB Show at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, where Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai shared the state’s ambitious vision for the sector with industry leaders.
As part of this collaboration, a CMAI Textile and Apparel Facilitation Centre will be set up in Raipur—marking a major step toward accelerating textile growth, attracting investment, and creating employment opportunities.
Further strengthening its textile ecosystem, the state has approved a Rs 271 crore campus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Nava Raipur. This institute will play a key role in advancing design innovation and skill development.
Chief Minister Sai highlighted the government’s commitment to rapid industrialisation, citing the state's new industrial policy that spans MSMEs to advanced sectors like semiconductors. The policy includes targeted support for textile-focused MSMEs, underlining Chhattisgarh’s goal to emerge as a major player in India’s textile and apparel industry.
