The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) recently reviewed 17 major infrastructure projects across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttarakhand, with a total investment exceeding ₹14,096 crore.
Chaired by DPIIT Secretary Amardeep Bhatia, the Project Monitoring Group (PMG) meeting brought together officials from central ministries, state governments, and key stakeholders to address implementation challenges. A major highlight was the ₹3,164.72 crore four-laning of the Jaunpur-Akbarpur road, a project critical for regional connectivity.
The review also focused on the development of several new ESI Hospitals to improve healthcare access in underserved areas, contributing to both public health and regional growth.
Additionally, the meeting assessed progress on the permanent campus of NIT Uttarakhand in Sumari, Pauri Garhwal. The campus is expected to enhance the state’s technical education and research capacity, while spurring local economic development.
The session reaffirmed the government's commitment to institutional support and urged proactive coordination among stakeholders. Private sector participants were encouraged to actively engage with the PMG platform to expedite project implementation.
