Clearing the Air: Ministry Fast-Tracks Airport Construction Approvals

In an effort to enhance the ease of doing business, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu has spearheaded a comprehensive review of the no-objection certificate (NOC) framework for constructions near airports. Collaborating with senior ministry and Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials, the administration is shifting toward an automated, transparent, and time-bound system that minimizes manual bottlenecks. A cornerstone of the reform package is a pre-planning height-assessment tool for major metropolitan zones, empowering developers to evaluate project feasibility and adhere to aviation safety standards from inception. These measures collectively target bureaucratic delays to foster smoother commercial development without compromising airspace safety.
