Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a ₹83 crore, 951-metre-long railway overbridge (ROB) at Jamunamukh in Hojai district on 1 December 2025.
The new overbridge, featuring a 7.5-metre-wide motorable carriageway, is designed to improve connectivity between the Dabaka, Kampur, and Jamunamukh railway stations. Alongside the ROB inauguration, the Chief Minister also virtually launched several educational and community projects, including the Model High School at Balijuri Tea Estate and multiple community halls at tea estates. He further laid the foundation stones for new school buildings and key flood protection initiatives in Barhampur and Jamunamukh.
CM Sarma emphasised the government’s continued focus on flood mitigation, noting that roughly ₹80 crore has been allocated for protection works to address recurring floods caused by the Kopili River.
