Daikin’s ₹8B India Expansion: The Next Frontier for Global Cooling

Daikin Industries is significantly expanding its footprint in India by establishing a new global R&D hub dedicated to next-generation cooling technologies. Operating as Daikin Research and Development India, the wholly-owned subsidiary will be incorporated in July 2026 in New Delhi, with a state-of-the-art facility slated for completion by June 2028.

Backed by an initial ₹8 billion investment, the hub will design advanced HVAC solutions for Asia, Oceania, and Africa, targeting high-growth sectors like AI, cloud computing, and data centers. Daikin chose India for this critical role due to its robust engineering talent, expanding industrial ecosystem, and strategic location in the global supply chain.
