Oriana Power Wins Contract for Delhi's First Agrivoltaic Project

Oriana Power has secured a contract to establish a 25 MWp agrivoltaic plant under Delhi's Group Net Metering (GNM) Policy. The project involves setting up solar panels on raised structures above farmland, allowing uninterrupted farming activities underneath. It includes constructing a 10 km underground transmission line and a 66 kV substation to serve three GNM users efficiently.

This initiative marks the largest agrivoltaic installation in India and the first of its kind in Delhi. Agrivoltaics combines solar power generation with large-scale farming, optimizing land use and agricultural productivity. Group net metering enables surplus energy to be exported to the grid, enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability.

This project by Oriana Power highlights a significant step towards integrating renewable energy with agriculture, supporting India's goals of sustainable development and energy security.
