Delhi Metro: Supercharging Connectivity with 700km Fiber Network

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has joined forces with Beckhaul Digital Technologies to establish a 700 km high-speed optical fibre network throughout the Metro corridors. The rollout will be carried out in phases, starting with the Pink and Magenta lines, with the entire network expected to be upgraded within six months.

According to Anuj Dayal, DMRC's Principal Executive Director for corporate communications, the fibre network will serve as a crucial foundation for high-speed internet, benefiting telecom companies, internet service providers, data centres, and Smart City projects.

This initiative will also support the expansion of 5G services, improving connectivity throughout Delhi-NCR. In line with the Indian government's vision of a digitally connected nation, the project is designed to meet the growing demand for high-speed internet and create a future-proof metro infrastructure.
