Diamond Power Infrastructure (DPIL) has commissioned its eighth medium voltage (MV) and extra high voltage (EHV) power cable production line at its Vadodara, Gujarat manufacturing facility, further expanding its capacity in the high-growth underground cable segment.
The enhanced capacity will support rising demand from power transmission networks, renewable energy evacuation projects, urban distribution systems, metro rail networks, airports, data centres, and industrial infrastructure. DPIL has also announced that two additional MV/EHV production lines are currently being installed and are expected to become operational by 31 March 2027. Upon completion, the Vadodara facility will house a total of 10 MV/EHV cable production lines, significantly strengthening the company’s manufacturing scale and technological capabilities.
Commenting on the development, Nivedita Pandya, Vice President – Projects, said that the commissioning of the eighth line marks a key milestone in the company’s expansion strategy, enhancing its ability to meet growing demand from utilities, power generation projects, renewable energy systems, and urban underground transmission networks while reinforcing its position in the MV and EHV cable market.
