Digital Connexion—a joint venture between Brookfield, Reliance Industries, and Digital Realty—has announced a USD 11 billion investment over five years to build a one-gigawatt (GW), AI-native, purpose-built data centre in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Planned across 400 acres, the campus will house advanced GPUs, TPUs, and AI processors to support large-scale AI workloads for hyperscalers and enterprises. The agreement was signed at the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, and Reliance Industries Executive Director P. M. S. Prasad. The project aligns with India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and high-performance computing.
Digital Connexion’s existing and upcoming facilities—including its Chennai campus and a Mumbai data centre under development—feature renewable-energy integration, efficient designs, advanced cooling systems, redundant power feeds, and carrier-neutral connectivity. The announcement follows Google’s recent USD 15 billion plan for an AI data centre in Visakhapatnam, further cementing the region’s position as a growing hub for AI-driven digital infrastructure.
