Dixon Technologies India and Netherlands-based Signify, the owner of lighting brands like Philips and EcoLink, have formed a 50:50 joint venture (JV) for original equipment manufacturing (OEM) of lighting products and accessories in India.
As part of the agreement, Dixon will transfer its lighting business, including its wholly-owned subsidiary Dixon Technologies Solutions, to the JV, while Signify will acquire the remaining 50% stake through a cash transaction. The JV will manufacture lighting products for Signify as well as other brands, contributing to the "Make in India" initiative. A binding term sheet for the partnership was signed on March 27, 2025.
Dixon’s Managing Director, Atul B Lall, stated that Signify’s expertise in lighting technologies and process optimization will enhance operational efficiency. Sumit Joshi, CEO of Signify Innovations India, emphasized that the collaboration will help establish a world-class manufacturing company, producing high-quality and competitively priced lighting solutions.
This strategic partnership aims to strengthen India’s position as a global hub for lighting manufacturing.
