The Future of Flight Services: Hisar Airport's New Era

The redeveloped Hisar Airport in Haryana is set to enhance regional connectivity and specialized air services. Over the past four to five years, the airport has undergone a ₹1,500 crore transformation, securing regulatory approvals and gearing up for inauguration next month.

Spanning over 7,000 acres, the upgraded facility includes an Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) covering 3,000 hectares, along with parking for approximately 15 aircraft. Designed to alleviate congestion at major airports, Hisar focuses on specialized services such as aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), air cargo, and manufacturing. The aviation hub also features an MRO facility and an aviation academy, catering to large aircraft operations.

Located about 190 km from Delhi, the airport is managed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and offers ample slot availability, extensive aircraft parking, and a highly competitive one percent VAT on jet fuel to attract airlines. Alliance Air has partnered with the state-backed airport to operate regional flights to Jammu, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, and Ayodhya.

The redevelopment, overseen by the Haryana Airports Development Corporation (HADC), is progressing in three phases. The first phase, involving terminal upgrades, has been completed. The second phase, currently underway, aims to support international flight operations, while the third and final phase is expected to be completed by 2030.

Post-inauguration, Alliance Air will launch the first flight from Hisar to Ayodhya, marking a significant milestone in the airport’s expansion.
