HyFun Foods plans to invest around ₹900 crore to set up a new manufacturing facility in North Gujarat as part of its strategy to significantly expand production of French fries and other potato-based products. The new unit is expected to become operational by November–December 2026, according to a senior company executive.
The upcoming facility will more than double the company’s capacity for both French fries and potato specialties. Currently, HyFun Foods has an annual capacity of 110,000 tonnes for French fries and 15,000 tonnes for potato specialties.
“We are putting up a new unit and more than doubling our capacity both for French fries and potato specialties,” said Haresh Karamchandani, Managing Director and Group CEO of HyFun Foods. The company plans to add 135,000 tonnes of French fries capacity and 25,000 tonnes of potato specialties through the new facility.
Following the expansion, HyFun Foods’ French fries production capacity will rise to 245,000 tonnes, while its potato specialties capacity will increase to 40,000 tonnes.
The planned unit will be the company’s sixth manufacturing facility and will add to its existing cluster of operations in Mehsana in North Gujarat. HyFun Foods currently has an overall potato processing capacity of about 350,000 tonnes, which will increase to around 700,000 tonnes after the expansion.
“Today our overall potato processing capacity is 350,000 tonnes and now this will take it to 700,000 tonnes,” Karamchandani said.
