The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has entered into a strategic partnership with Häfele India through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on May 7, 2025, in New Delhi. This collaboration aims to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem, drive product innovation, and integrate Indian enterprises into global value chains.
Effective for two years with provisions for extension, the MoU supports the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative by promoting innovation-led growth among startups, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and entrepreneurs. The agreement focuses on facilitating access to mentorship, targeted investments, and international markets.
As part of the partnership, Häfele India has pledged direct support for domestic manufacturing. The company has already invested over USD 2.5 million in an Indian appliance startup and placed purchase orders with local MSMEs producing architectural hardware and furniture fittings—initiatives aimed at boosting local sourcing and enabling Indian manufacturers to join global supply chains.
DPIIT, through its flagship Startup India program, will provide critical ecosystem support, including access to co-branded initiatives, specialized programs, and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs and startups. This collaboration is expected to foster cross-sectoral engagement, enhance industry readiness, and promote scalable innovation.
