US-based Elessent Clean Technologies and Hyderabad-based Thermal Systems have formed a strategic partnership to enhance the performance, efficiency, and reliability of sulfuric acid plants across India’s chemical and fertiliser industries.
The collaboration brings together Elessent’s global expertise in process technologies and plant optimisation with Thermal Systems’ strong manufacturing capabilities, creating a comprehensive solution for both new installations and the modernisation of existing facilities. The partnership is designed to help industrial operators improve operational efficiency, maximise asset performance, and meet evolving sustainability and productivity requirements.
Recognising the complexity of sulfuric acid production facilities, the alliance will adopt a holistic approach to plant optimisation rather than focusing solely on individual equipment replacements. Instead of upgrading isolated components such as boilers, the partnership will assess and optimise the entire heat recovery, steam generation, and process integration system to identify opportunities for enhanced performance and long-term operational benefits.
Elessent will contribute its advanced MECS technologies, including high-efficiency sulfuric acid production systems, SO₂ scrubbing solutions, and sophisticated heat recovery technologies. These systems are complemented by specialised equipment engineered to withstand demanding industrial environments, improving plant durability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Thermal Systems will leverage its expertise in the design and manufacture of customised steam generation and heat recovery equipment, ensuring high-quality fabrication and execution in accordance with international standards. The company’s local manufacturing capabilities are expected to facilitate faster project delivery, improved service support, and cost-effective implementation for customers across India.
The partnership is expected to support the modernisation of ageing industrial infrastructure, enhance energy efficiency, and address the growing demand for sustainable chemical processing solutions. As India’s chemical and fertiliser sectors continue to expand, the alliance aims to provide advanced technology and engineering solutions that improve plant performance while contributing to greater operational sustainability and competitiveness.
