Experience Mulapadu: The Safari You've Been Waiting For!

The Forest Department of NTR district is set to introduce a Jungle Safari on a trial basis at the Mulapadu Butterfly Park, located within the Kondapalli Reserve Forest near Mulapadu village. First inaugurated in 2018, the park has become a popular destination for nature lovers, attracting thousands of visitors over the years.

Mulapadu Butterfly Park is the first of its kind in the district and the second in Andhra Pradesh after Visakhapatnam. It is home to around 50 butterfly species, including 15 rare varieties. A two-kilometre butterfly trail, developed with support from NGOs, offers an immersive experience for visitors to observe butterflies in their natural ecosystem.

Recent upgrades to the park—funded by ₹1.5 crore from APGENCO’s CSR initiative and ₹2 crore from Nagaravanam funds—led to its reopening in January 2025 with improved facilities.

The upcoming Jungle Safari will span 14 kilometres and conclude at the Lord Anjaneya Swamy Temple. Two safari vehicles have been procured and specially customised for the experience. Over the past six months, the park has welcomed 18,000 visitors, and officials anticipate a significant boost in tourist numbers with the launch of the safari.
