Since the launch of the Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI) platform, 53 projects of the Union Power Ministry have been reviewed, of which 43 have been completed and the remaining 10 are at various stages of construction, senior ministry officials said on Thursday (January 8, 2026).

Launched in 2015, the PRAGATI platform is designed to monitor and expedite stalled or delayed projects of the central government, as well as projects flagged by State governments, to ensure timely execution.

Officials said the 53 projects reviewed under PRAGATI involve a cumulative investment of approximately ₹4.13 lakh crore. Of this, the 43 commissioned projects account for ₹3.02 lakh crore, while projects currently under construction are valued at around ₹1.10 lakh crore.

The projects reviewed include 22 undertaken by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), 16 by National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), four each by National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) and Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC), among others.

At present, two projects each of these major entities remain under construction, with the rest having been successfully commissioned, officials added.
